The Piedra family settled in Cuba in the 1880’s from the Spanish province of Asturias and started to make cigars. It was not, however, until the family’s second generation led by Jose Lamadrid Piedra that the brand was founded and developed. All JLP cigars are rolled using the tripa corta method – short filler, handmade and are rustic in both appearance and taste.
